Wang Xizhi is China’s most celebrated and accomplished calligrapher. Learning from past masters, he forged his unique style. As an icon in Chinese calligraphy, he shaped a millennium‑long artistic tradition and left numerous outstanding works. Proficient in clerical, cursive, regular and running scripts, he mastered all forms by intensive study and practice. Breaking away from Han‑Wei brush conventions, he created an influential original school of calligraphy.
